Diaspora Map – Tracking Idlib’s Impact Around the World
With the major changes Idlib has experienced over recent years, expatriates have become an essential part of the city’s social and economic fabric. To strengthen connections between those inside and outside the city, the idea of a Diaspora Map emerged. This initiative aims to track where people from Idlib reside around the world and connect them with one another, enabling the exchange of knowledge, expertise, and mutual support.
The map reflects the diversity of skills and experiences among expatriates—ranging from entrepreneurs, artists, and academics to humanitarian volunteers. Any expatriate can register their information, specialization, and areas of interest, turning the map into a dynamic platform that facilitates cooperation between residents inside Idlib and those abroad.
The importance of the map goes beyond personal networking; it also documents Idlib’s global impact and showcases the contributions of expatriates in education, economy, culture, and development. It serves as a valuable tool for understanding how the community maintains its bonds despite distance and differing circumstances.
Additionally, the map helps organize joint initiatives, support small projects, and participate in social or cultural campaigns—keeping the city continuously connected with its people wherever they are, and making their stories a source of inspiration for all.
